Rajasthan High Court Stenographer Syllabus 2026, Exam Pattern, Salary

The Rajasthan High Court (RHC), Jodhpur, has released the recruitment notification for Stenographer Grade-III (Hindi/English) and Stenographer Grade-II (Hindi) posts for District Courts and District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs). A total of 163 vacancies have been announced. Online applications were accepted from 22 July to 10 August 2026. The selection process focuses primarily on skill tests rather than a conventional written objective examination.

What Is the Rajasthan High Court Stenographer Syllabus 2026?

Unlike many other competitive exams, the Rajasthan High Court Stenographer recruitment does not include a traditional MCQ-based written paper as the main stage. The competitive examination consists of:

  • Group A or Group B (Shorthand Test) – depending on the language of the post applied for (English or Hindi(Devnagri)).
  • Group C (Computer Test) – compulsory for all candidates.
  • Interview (Personality Test).

Candidates must pass the relevant shorthand group of the post they have applied for and must compulsorily qualify Group C (Computer Test).

Note: A trial passage of 200–250 words is dictated at the same speed before the final passage. The trial passage is not transcribed or evaluated.

Candidates must clear both the relevant shorthand group and the Computer Test to proceed further.

Raj High Court Stenographer Selection Process

  1. Shorthand Test (Group A or Group B as applicable) + Computer Test (Group C).
  2. Interview / Personality Test.
  3. Document Verification and Medical Examination.

The final merit is prepared on the basis of performance in the skill tests and interview.

Educational Qualification and Eligibility

  • Senior Secondary (12th Pass) from a recognised board or equivalent.
  • Computer qualification: O-Level / COPA / DPCS / Diploma in Computer Science / RS-CIT or equivalent / Senior Secondary with Computer Science.
  • Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and Rajasthani dialects.
  • Shorthand proficiency as per the speeds mentioned above.
  • Age: 18 to 40 years (as on 01 January 2027) with relaxations as per Rajasthan government rules.

Rajasthan High Court Stenographer Salary

Selected candidates are appointed in District Courts or DLSAs across Rajasthan. The pay scale is Level-10 of the Pay Matrix (₹33,800 – ₹1,06,700) after probation. During the probation period (usually 2 years), a fixed remuneration is paid.

How to Prepare for Rajasthan High Court Stenographer 2026

  • Practise shorthand dictation daily at the required speed (80 wpm English / 70 wpm Hindi).
  • Improve transcription accuracy and speed on computer.
  • Focus on computer efficiency skills – formatting documents, tables, letters, and paragraphs.
  • Practise with standard fonts (Kruti Dev for Hindi).
  • Take regular mock tests for both shorthand and computer components.
  • Work on speed and accuracy simultaneously; errors in transcription reduce marks significantly.
