Saurashtra University UG Syllabus 2026: Semester-wise Structure

UG Semester 1 & 2

The first two semesters generally introduce students to the core subjects of their selected major along with applicable minor, multidisciplinary, skill-enhancement and other NEP components. Students should download the syllabus corresponding to their admission year because revised syllabi may differ from older CBCS versions.

UG Semester 3 & 4

These semesters generally expand the major/core curriculum and introduce more specialised subjects. Saurashtra University has separate examination and syllabus provisions for both NEP and CBCS batches. An official March 2026 circular, for example, refers specifically to UG Semester 4 examinations under NEP and CBCS.

UG Semester 5 & 6

These semesters focus more strongly on advanced/core and discipline-specific subjects. For example, the official B.Com Semester 6 examination timetable includes English Language-6, Indian Economy-2, Business Mathematics & Statistics-2, along with discipline-specific electives such as Auditing, Consumer Protection, Financial Management and Human Resource Management.

UG Semester 7 & 8

Under the NEP-2020 framework, four-year undergraduate programmes may include Honours and Honours with Research options. Saurashtra University issued 2026 notices for several Sem 7 and 8 programmes, including B.Com, BSW, B.A. History and B.Sc. Physics.

PG Semester 1 & 2

The first year of PG programmes generally covers foundational and advanced subjects within the selected discipline. Since syllabus revisions can occur independently for different subjects, students should use the latest subject-specific PDF from the university.

PG Semester 3 & 4

The final PG semesters generally contain advanced specialisation, electives, research/project components or other programme-specific requirements. Saurashtra University continues to distinguish PG Semester 3 and 4 examinations for applicable CBCS programmes.

UG Programmes (3/4-year): Common ordinances for non-council-based programmes (including BBA and BCA) are effective from A.Y. 2026–27. Credit framework supports UG Certificate (after 1 year / 44 credits), UG Diploma (after 2 years / 88 credits), 3-year Bachelor’s Degree (132 credits), and 4-year Honours or Honours with Research (176 credits). Students should not rely on an old syllabus PDF merely because the course and semester are the same. Saurashtra University is actively revising and adding syllabi during 2026 on their official website; for example, new/revised syllabus notices were published in July and August 2026 for several UG and PG programmes.
