Telangana Police SI Selection Process 2026

The selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Preliminary Written Test (PWT) – Qualifying in nature.
2. Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Qualifying.
3. Final Written Examination (FWE) – Merit-determining (4 papers).

Telangana Police SI Exam Pattern 2026

1. Preliminary Written Test (PWT)

• Mode: Objective (OMR-based).

• Total Questions/Marks: 200 questions for 200 marks.
• Languages: English-Telugu and English-Urdu (English version prevails in case of ambiguity).
• Marking: +1 for correct answer; negative marking of 0.20 marks (20% of the mark) for wrong answers (darkening more than one bubble or incorrect ones). No marks for unanswered questions.
• Qualifying Marks: 30% for OC (including EWS), 25% for BC, and 20% for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen.

2. Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates who qualify the PWT appear for PMT/PET. Standards include height/chest measurements (with relaxations for certain categories) and events such as:

• 1600 metres run (Men) / 800 metres run (Women), with specific time limits (e.g., Men generally within ~7 min 15 sec; Ex-Servicemen have relaxed timings).
• Long Jump and Shot Put (7.26 kg for men / 4 kg for women).
