The Main exam includes five sections: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge.

Candidates are chosen for assistant positions depending on how well they did on the preliminary and main tests. The preliminary exam serves as a qualifying test, and the final merit list of applicants will be determined by adding up all of the candidates’ scores from the main exam. Prior to the final selection, candidates who pass the Main Exam will be shortlisted for the qualifying Regional Language Test.
There will be two phases to the NIACL Assistant Exam 2026. The preliminary exam will be the first step, and the mains exam will be the second. Candidates who pass the preliminary exam will be eligible to take the main exam, which will be qualifying in character. The final merit list will take the major exam scores into account.
